The Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026 has wrapped up. More than 15,000 people attended the summit, organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology, according to Mir Shahrukh Islam, one of its organisers. He shared the details in a Facebook post on 5 November.

The summit in numbers

According to Shahrukh’s post, the President attended the summit. He also gave these figures:

  • More than 15,000 attendees
  • More than 140 national and international exhibitors
  • More than 10,000 registered visitors
  • More than 2,000 business owners, CXOs and directors

He said students, founders, investors, academics and policymakers came together to discuss how AI can work for Bangladesh.

‘AI isn’t a distant future anymore’

In his post, Shahrukh wrote that in his view AI is no longer a distant future for Bangladesh and is already changing how factories, farms, banks, hospitals and small businesses work. The real question, he said, is whether Bangladesh will simply use AI built elsewhere or build, adopt and lead with it, and the summit was meant to start that conversation.

He thanked the Ministry of Science and Technology for bringing government, industry and academia onto one platform, saying policy and business have to move together in an AI economy.

Shahrukh also credited co-convenors Waeez Hossain and Robin Rahman, and thanked the DCCI President and leadership, the Digital Economy & IT Standing Committee, the DCCI Secretariat, partners, exhibitors and speakers.
