TrainKothai shows live train positions on a 3D map

Bangladeshi app TrainKothai shows live train positions on a 3D map. According to Deepto News, users can see where a train is, how many minutes late it is and when it may reach a station—free of charge.

In a 4 November notice, the service said it is free on Android, iOS and Trainkothai.com, with no account or sign-up required. Searching by train name, number or station brings up details and a map view.

Founder Abu Anwar said live location depends on GPS sharing by passengers on the train. When someone turns on “I am on this train”, the location is verified and shown to everyone. Sharing is off by default and is not tied to a name or phone number, the notice said.

The app is not a Bangladesh Railway official system—it is an independent, community-based project. Schedules use published railway data, but live location depends on passenger sharing. Deepto News advised checking with the authorities before urgent travel.
