The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) has reminded smaller organisations that its IPv6 Fee Waiver expires on 31 December 2026, in a post on its Facebook page on 5 November.
ARIN said the waiver allowed organisations in the 3X-Small service category to hold up to a /36 of total IPv6 space without moving to the 2X-Small billing category. Once it expires, organisations currently using it may move to the 2X-Small category in 2027.
ARIN said it is contacting impacted customers directly. Questions can be sent to [email protected] or raised through Ask ARIN in an ARIN Online account. Full details are in ARIN’s 9 July announcement.
ARIN is the internet number registry mainly for North America. Organisations in Bangladesh usually receive IP addresses through APNIC, so the change primarily affects ARIN customers.
